Volunteer

The vision of the PTA can only be realized by the effort of VOLUNTEERS.  For parents that wish to be involved with their children’s education, the PTA provides a mechanism by which they can have a great impact.  The PTA leadership has designed it’s offering so that a small amount of volunteer time results in a tremendous value to the school community.  There is also a great sense of satisfaction that is granted through volunteering.

The number one reason people say they do not volunteer is because someone has not asked them.  Well, we are asking, and we want you involved!  Your time and talents are needed!  Whether it is a little time or a lot of time, every week or once a year, your time is appreciated!

You Must Register with Wake County to be a Volunteer

Per district policy, all volunteers must register with Wake County Public Schools and pass a background check to volunteer in classrooms and participate with field trips.  Registration can only be done at Parkside Elementary during school hours in the Media Center. Bring your driver’s license number with you. Note that Volunteers must reactivate their registration each school year

Signing In

When visiting Parkside Elementary to volunteer in the classroom or for PTA events, please report directly to the office and sign in as a Volunteer and to obtain a visitor’s badge that must be displayed prominently.  Parkside tracks its volunteer hours, so it is important to have your volunteer time counted.
